REVIEW OF "JUMANJI"

"Jumanji" is a book composed by 40 pages , edited by "Penguin readers" .

It's a fantastic story that happens in different eras , during the 1869 , the 1969 and during the 1995 .

All the facts happen in USA , in a town of the New Hampshire called

Brantford .

The main characters are Peter Shepherd and his sister Judy , Sarah Whittle and Alan Parrish .

The story begins in 1869 in Brantford when two brothers were trying to bury a big box in a hole made in the ground to let the people be out of danger by it.

The story jumps suddenly in the 1969 , in the same place , where Alan lived.

Alan is a young guy , afraid of some bad kids who want to fight against him .

Riding his bike , he met them and immediately ran to his dad's shoes factory.

He ran to his dad , and asked him to pick him home by car , but his dad wanted him to face his life problems so he told him to go out toward his problems , without fear.

Going out , the guys hit and kicked him because he talked with one of those kids' girlfriend , leaving him without his bike and painful . But the real story is beginning , in fact he heard a strange noise coming from a half-buried box in a hole .

He took it out of the ground and looked at it : Jumanji was written on the box, and into there were pics of jungle animals and an eye in the center .

Come back home , Alan had a quarrel with his parents and decided to go away from his home city . Going out with some food , clothes and the Jumanji box , he saw Sarah in front of him right out the door , come there to explain the reality to Alan .

When Sarah saw the Jumanji box , she wanted to know what it was , and understanding it was only a board-game she dropped the dices 'cose she didn't want to play that kind of games .

Out of the blue , one of the tokens moved to the 6th square on the board , exactly the number of the dices , 4 plus 2 .

Some words appeared in the glass eye , and after some minutes they understood the words were a description of what was going to happen .

Alan scared of what happened ,  dropped the dices without thinking.

Another token moved for some squares , some other words appeared in the glass eye and Alan suddenly begun to be smaller and smaller , scared of that , Sarah ran out of the house.

In 1995 2 little guys , Peter and his sister Judy , moved to last Alan house to live with their aunt Nora , after the dead of their parents because of a car accident .

When they began to attend their new school , the immediately knew the story of the disappear guy Alan .

A day , they heard a noise , and following it the found the Jumanji box , and they immediately began to play that strange game , and at the same time they understood what game rules..

Dropping one more time the dices , a lion came out of the box , and also a man with hairs on his face : he was Alan .

He immediately thanked the guys and went downstairs to hail his parents , but Judy and Peter explain him they lived there now .

Alan wanted to know what happened to his family , so he went to his dad's factory , and a man said to them Alan's parents were dead , and the factory closed some months after he began to play the Jumanji game .

So he decided to help Peter and Judy to finish the game . Back in the kitchen Alan dropped the dices but nothing happened , so he understood it was Sarah turn .

He let her understand what happened and he obliged her to go on playing the game .

So they began to finish the game and after animals in the house , a hunter who wanted to kill Alan , big trees and carnivorous flowers , crocodiles , huge spiders and some other dreadful things , Alan was in front of the armed-with-a-rifle hunter, thinking about those probably last alive minutes .

But he saw he was the winner of the game , and immediately hollered

"Jumanji !!!!!! " .

At once , everything came back into the box , and everything happened to the house disappeared .

Alan and Sarah were 12 again , the house was old , and he saw his dad , Sam Parrish , so they realized it was 1969 .

They understood the best thing they could do was to cover the box , and they dropped it down in the river .

They wanted to meet Judy and Peter in 1995 , so in this year , the met them also if the two little guys didn't know anything about what happened .

Alan gave a job to Alan and Peter's dad , and 2 pairs of shows to the children , called Jumanjis..

I liked a lot this book , 'cose it is easy to understand and not too long . The story gets the reader involved , and reading this book you can't stop , coz you only wanna go on and know what is going to happen .

It ain't a boring book , also because i think everybody wants to live the same experience told , also if you are 10 or 50 .

I really wanna say this book let everybody understand how much friendship is important , especially in difficult moments , like... when monkeys , big spider and rhinoceros are free to go around your house !!!!
